Mr. Brainwash is the stage name of filmmaker Thierry Guetta. He lives and works in Los Angeles. He began filming documentaries of urban art, eventually transitioning from the observer to the artist, debuting with great success in 2008 with a massive exhibition titled “Life is beautiful.” He is known worldwide for the film Exit Through the Gift Shop, directed by artist Banksy. His appropriationist style mixes American pop art with street art and counterculture icons.
